Congratulations with the publication in Nature Communications

We are pleased to
announce the publication of a new scientific paper in Nature Communications by
Vincenzo Romano and colleagues from the Chris De Zeeuw group. The paper, titled
"Stage-dependent cerebrocerebellar communication during sensorimotor
processing," reveals a key mechanism in how the brain controls movement: During movement
preparation, the cerebellum receives a copy of the motor commands from the
cerebrum, likely to generate motor predictions.
During execution, the
cerebellum sends feedback to the cerebrum, likely to correct the motor cortical
activity. This work highlights the
essential role of the cerebellum in both anticipating and refining motor
commands.
The full paper is now
available in Nature Communications.
