Amir Asghari (A)

Biography

My name is Amir. I joined the prof. Kushner's lab in 2019 to start my PhD program and since then, I have been working on my project which is aimed on the genetic and neurobiological discovery of neuropsychiatric disorders with focus on schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorder. The main objective of our study is to identify the causative genetic variants upon a Mendelian pattern of disease inheritance. The general workflow for this purpose in our lab is to focus on the next-generation sequencing methods together with classical linkage analysis, iPSC-originated neural cell culture modeling, and neuro-electrophysiological/patch clamp recordings.
